This post was a different concept for me and I wish you all could of been here to see my husband taking photos for me. I believe we have more pictures of me laughing than any that were postable up here. I have a new appreciation for Caroline at The Modest Mom on her Monday Link Ups where she shares what she wore. I love looking at photos of what other women are wearing and appreciate even more so when the outfits are fashionable and modest.
This Christmas Season several blogging friends and I are sharing modest and beautifully feminine outfits we are wearing for the upcoming holiday season through a blog hop. They will vary from dressy to casual. I’m not sure I do dressy very much anymore (maybe attending a wedding). I am most comfortable in jeans or a jean skirt. When I’m home working around the house or running local errands I am usually a pants wearer. When I’m headed to church or special events you would probably find me in a skirt. Denim being my first pick for it’s versatility.
I live in Wisconsin so it is cold here in the winter. I find myself wearing pants to keep warm but since Deborah & Co. has added lovely fleece lined leggings I may be wearing my skirts more in the winter. They are truly luxurious and keep you so toasty. Being almost – ahem- 50! – I thought to myself, “seriously I can’t do leggings even under a skirt” but these have changed my view. You will not want to wear tights again. I have had the riding boots in the picture for over 15 years. I truly got my money’s worth out of those babies. I’m still looking for a good pair of black riding boots but struggling to find a comfortable fitting pair.
Okay, here we go with some photos of the outfit I am most excited about wearing this Christmas Season. I am sure I’ll be wearing it to church (sorry church family you have to see this in advance) and we are going to see The Christmas Carol so it will probably be sported there too. I love the sweater. It is a recent purchase from Eddie Bauer. I tend to be an online shopper and Eddie Bauer has been a trademark store for me for many years now. My riding boots in the photo are from there too (but they are not in the catalog anymore – it has been 15 years!).
I have several skirts from Deborah & Co. and the one I’m wearing in the photo is one of them. This one isn’t carried anymore but they still have many lovely choices. We purchased some beautiful maternity skirts for my daughter there and she is getting good use of them since she is currently expecting baby number three :).
Okay, I am now getting to the photos – I’ve been stalling. Before I post them I have a confession to make. I put the bottom lights on the Christmas tree in my pajamas and then went up and showered and got dressed and just held the lights for the photo. There now I feel better posting these photos now. I hope you will take the time to hop around this blog hop and get some ideas for items you already have in your closet to put together some modest and fashionable Christmas outfits.
