Homemaking Matters: Living for God’s Glory in the Ordinary

Friend, I’m so glad you’re here.

This book grew out of years of living ordinary days as a wife, mom, grandmother, and homemaker. Days filled with dishes and laundry, long conversations and quiet prayers, moments of joy and seasons of weariness. And through it all, the Lord has been patiently teaching me something I’m still learning every day:

What we do at home matters deeply to Him.

Homemaking Matters is an invitation to slow down and see our daily work through the lens of Scripture and eternity. It’s about finding joy in faithfulness, purpose in the ordinary, and rest in Christ right in the middle of everyday life.

Reading it was like sitting with a Titus 2 mentor over coffee.

What This Book Is About

Homemaking isn’t just a list of chores or a never-ending to-do list. It’s a calling filled with eternal purpose. Homemaking Matters helps you see your home and your daily work through the lens of Scripture and eternity.

In this book, you’ll be encouraged to see God’s purpose in ordinary daily routines and to understand that everyday work can be an act of worship. You’ll learn to love and serve your family with gospel-shaped joy, let go of striving and rest in Christ’s sufficiency, and live each day with an eternal perspective.

What readers are saying…

Who should read Homemaking Matters

This book was written for women living ordinary, faithful days at home. It’s for the woman standing at the kitchen sink, quietly wondering if her work really matters. It’s for the mom who ends the day tired and gets up the next morning to begin again. It’s for the homemaker who wants to honor Christ in the daily care of her home and family, even in the smallest tasks. It’s for the woman learning to trust that God is at work in every responsibility and interruption. And it’s for the Christian woman who longs to live with joy, purpose, and an eternal perspective right where God has placed her.

If you’ve ever wrestled with discouragement, weariness, or the feeling that your work at home is small or unseen, I pray this book meets you with biblical hope and gentle encouragement.

“With Homemaking Matters, Marci Ferrell has written a book that will challenge the weak theological thinking of our day, especially as it pertains to women’s roles.”
