Learning from Elisabeth Elliot: A List of Resources @mferrell

I wanted to know what it looked like to live out my life as a Christian wife, mother, and homemaker on a daily basis? In my searching for Christian resources, one of the first books I came across was Let Me Be a Woman by Elisabeth Elliot. ... continue reading...

Prayer reminds us we are dependent on God for every aspect of our lives and we grow in that relationship by communing with Him in prayer. @mferrell

Prayer is simply talking to God. As believers, we have access to God the Father through our relationship with Jesus Christ. Prayer reminds us we are dependent on God for every aspect of our lives and we grow in that relationship by communing with Him in prayer. Donald Whitney reminds us in regards to the spiritual disciplines that prayer is second only to Bible intake in the order of importance.Prayer is not demanding but we are coming before the Lord with open hands to what He knows is ... continue reading...

When God’s Plans Interrupt Mine

by Marci Ferrell
Biblical Womanhood Christian Living Contentment Homemaking Ministry Titus 2

Is our first thought amid an illness or difficult season to give thanks to the Lord in it? This thought has been on my mind this week as my bible reading has me in 1 Thessalonians and I'm also dealing with a bad cold. I had things I wanted to accomplish this week and people I wanted to get together with. Some things happened but not as much as I planned. God had other plans.I was dealing with a cold, nothing earth shattering but something that brings a change in your ... continue reading...

Gleanings from the Life of Susannah Spurgeon

Biblical Womanhood Book Reviews Christian Living Marriage Titus 2

As a young Christian, I desired to read books from some of the “old guys” in the faith, but it was a bit intimidating. My first exposure to a “not so old guy” was Charles Spurgeon’s, Morning and Evening Devotional. I picked up Alistair Begg’s edited version, and it introduced me to a man who helped me to get a better understanding of what it meant to abide in Christ. You can read the post below or listen in to the podcast where I share a bit more ... continue reading...

Instagram post 2190797549825329454_40367759 Christmas shopping can get a bit overwhelming and I wanted to help you (and myself) to make it a bit less complicated. I love to find gifts for family and friends that point to Jesus. ⁣
⁣
This will not be your typical Christmas gift guide but one I hope will help you and your gift receivers keep their eyes focused on the eternal. My hope also is to simplify your shopping time with many items being purchased from smaller businesses right online.⁣

Instagram post 2190064452091749147_40367759 Advent is the season leading up to Christmas and it begins with the four Sundays before December 25th.⁣ ⁣
1 Peter 1:10-12 gives a picture of what it means to look back during Advent:⁣

1 Peter1:12 stands out because it says these saints of the past were serving us. We are on the other side now of Christ’s birth – the waiting for his arrival is over but the reality is we are still waiting for His second coming. We are still waiting for redemption. Advent can be looked at as a season to look back and one to look forward—preparing for Jesus second coming.⁣

Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!⁣
Serve the Lord with gladness!⁣
Come into his presence with singing!⁣
Know that the Lord, he is God!⁣
It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.⁣
Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise!⁣
Give thanks to him; bless his name!⁣
For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.⁣
