About Marci Ferrell | Thankful Homemaker

Hello, Friend!

I’m Marci, and I’m so glad you’re here!

I’m a wife, mom, Nana, homemaker, author, and the voice behind Thankful Homemaker. Most importantly, I’m a follower of Jesus Christ, and my desire is to encourage women to know and love Him more and to faithfully live out His Word in their everyday lives.

I’m grateful to have you here, and I hope you’ll find encouragement for your walk with the Lord and the everyday work He has given you to do.

A Little About Me

I’ve been married to my husband, Doug, since 1986, and we have two grown children and three grandchildren who call me Nana—which is one of my very favorite names. ❤️

We live in Wisconsin, and I love caring for our home, spending time with our family, having people over, and being involved in our local church.

I love good books, strong coffee, studying God’s Word, and time with family and friends. I’m usually reading something (or several somethings!), and there’s almost always a book close by.

I’m so thankful for the life the Lord has given me and the people He’s placed in it.

About Thankful Homemaker

Thankful Homemaker began in 2011 as a simple place for me to share what I was learning about biblical womanhood and homemaking. Over the years, it has grown into the blog and podcast you find here today.

My desire is still much the same—to encourage Christian women from God’s Word as we seek to honor Him in our homes and everyday lives. I share about spiritual growth, homemaking, marriage, motherhood, and Christian living, always with the reminder that our greatest need isn’t a better routine or a more organized home, but Christ.

I’m so thankful the Lord has allowed me to share in this little corner of the internet and for the women I’ve had the privilege of getting to know along the way.

Homemaking Matters

In 2026, I had the joy of releasing my first book, Homemaking Matters: Living for God’s Glory in the Ordinary.

I wrote Homemaking Matters to encourage women to see the purpose in the everyday work of home and how the Lord uses that work to grow us in Christlikeness as we love and serve the people He has placed in our lives.

Whether you’re home full-time or managing your home alongside work and other responsibilities, my hope is that this book will help you see your homemaking through the lens of God’s Word and faithfully steward the home He has given you.
