The Kitchen Table | June 13th, 2025

Inside: This week at the kitchen table, I’m sharing encouragement to center our hearts—and our homes—on Christ. You’ll find a favorite quote, a powerful testimony of God’s saving grace, a book that’s been such a help in slowing down, and a gentle reminder that true beauty in our homes begins with the attitude of our hearts.

Pull up a chair, friend. Here are a few simple favorites from my week—encouragement for your heart and home.

Articles to Encourage You

Popular Christian Books with Unintended Consequences @Riddleblog
This was a thoughtful reminder to be discerning with the books we read—especially popular Christian ones. Even well-meaning messages can lead us off course if they’re not grounded in sound doctrine and the full counsel of God’s Word.

Why I Chose Not to Believe in Jesus @Pursuing Perfection
This was such a powerful testimony of God’s grace drawing a heart from unbelief to faith. It’s a beautiful reminder that no one is too far gone for the Lord to reach—and that His Word never returns void.

Cultivating Beauty in Your Home
This week I’m sharing an older post/podcast that’s near to my heart—it’s all about cultivating beauty and warmth in our homes, beginning with our own hearts. We’ll chat about creating an atmosphere of peace, order, and joy—not for perfection’s sake, but to love and serve our families well and reflect the heart of Christ in the everyday.

From My Bookshelf to Yours

Reset by David Murray has been such a helpful reminder to slow down and embrace a grace-paced life. It was a quick re-read for me this past weekend and I’m so thankful I camped in it. If you’ve been feeling worn down or stretched too thin, this book offers wise, biblical encouragement to help you rest in the Lord while faithfully walking out the work He’s called you to.

This Week’s Favorite

I’m not usually a lipstick wearer, but I’ve really been enjoying this simple gloss. It adds just a little shine without feeling sticky, and it’s become a favorite in my everyday routine.

Quote of the Week:

“True peace in our homes doesn’t come from having everything just right or getting through our to-do list. It comes from Christ reigning in our hearts.”⁣
