Podcast Ep. 24: Dealing with Our Grumbling and Complaining

Biblical Womanhood Christian Living Communicating with Our Children Communication in Marriage Contentment Encouragement Evangelism Gratitude Podcast Spiritual Discipleship Titus 2

"Complaining will seem increasingly ugly when you let the beauty of God’s Word transform your words." @mferrell

We’re talking about a topic that I pretty confidently say affects all of us. It’s our grumbling and complaining. My hope today is that the Lord would fill us with joy no matter our circumstances and we would rejoice always and give thanks in all things. As believers we can do this and how do I know this - because as it says in Philippians 2:13 – it is God who is at work in you. So let’s dig in, and I pray that as we start our time together today, you will pray for the Lord to ... continue reading...

Do All Things Without Grumbling

by Marci Ferrell
Christian Living Contentment Encouragement Gratitude Spiritual Discipleship

One of the ways we can love and care for others and bring a spirit of unity in the church is by not grumbling and complaining. @mferrell

Why does it seem grumbling and complaining is so tolerated within our Christianity? Sometimes I think we tolerate it because we don't always think of it as a sin since it is so commonly practiced among us. Christian Living Contentment Encouragement Gratitude Spiritual Discipleship

Do you ever find yourself having "gospel amnesia"? Rick Thomas reminds me we all have it as Christians from time to time. Gospel Amnesia is when I can find myself forgetting what the Lord has done for me at the Cross, and I find myself sinfully complaining about difficult life situations. give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:18 Dealing With Our Hearts: I realize I can look to others as a thankful person on the outside, ... continue reading...

Surrendering Your Rights to God

Christian Living Contentment Gratitude

The Lord has full right to our lives.

It's the Thanksgiving season and I'm re-visiting a favorite yearly read called Choosing Gratitude: Your Journey to Joy by Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth.  In one of the chapters she shares a letter from a Bible teacher named Russell Kelfer. His suggestion with the letter below is to write it out, sign your name at the bottom and make it a habit to recommit yourself to this challenging pledge on a regular basis: Ponder his words: Having been born into the kingdom of God, I do hereby acknowledge ... continue reading...

Our Simple Thanksgiving Traditions

by Marci Ferrell

Thanksgiving is a sweet time to recognize as a family and express appreciation for all the benefits we've received from God and others. #thanksigiving #thankful #thanksgivingtraditions @mferrell

Thankfulness to God is a recognition that God in His goodness and faithfulness has provided for us and cared for us, both physically and spiritually. It is a recognition that we are totally dependent upon Him; that all that we are and have comes from God. ~ Jerry Bridges I love the change of seasons that comes with Thanksgiving.  I think of cozy evenings in warm blankets by a fire sipping hot cocoa and reading a good book.  I'm really good with the realization that I'm ... continue reading...
