Remembering to Thank God for His Blessings

by Marci Ferrell
Christian Living Encouragement Gratitude Holidays

How often can we forget the 20 things the Lord granted us and just focus on the one prayer request that wasn't answered? #thanksgiving #thankful #godsblessing @mferrell

We can be a forgetful people and especially when it comes to giving thanks to the Lord. So many times I ask the Lord for things in prayer and forget to give thanks when I receive them. I forget to give thanks to the things I didn't ask for, but the Lord knew I needed and gave them to me out of His love for me. My heart can be so self-focused, and I forget to look and give credit and praise to the One I owe for all things. With the season of Thanksgiving upon us, it is just on our ... continue reading...

God’s Blessing Does Not Depend on Our Performance

God’s grace through Christ is greater than our sin, even on our worst days. @mferrell

Let me throw two scenarios by you: Good Day: You wake up, get your coffee, have your time in the Word and prayer with the Lord. Get your family breakfast, start school with the kids. The whole day falls into place beautifully, and at the end of the day a neighbor stops by, and you have an opportunity to share the gospel with her. As you start to talk, you pray silently and ask the Lord to help you share with her and work in her heart. Bad Day: Today is opposite the first. You wake up late, ... continue reading...

      –   Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 2 Corinthians 5:17     The Gospel.  The Good News of the redemptive work of Jesus Christ on our behalf.  As believers we know it, we remember it, and we celebrate it at Christmas and Easter, and we know we need to share the truth of the Gospel to the lost world around us. The question I want us to ponder is--how does the gospel ... continue reading...

Podcast Ep. 24: Dealing with Our Grumbling and Complaining

"Complaining will seem increasingly ugly when you let the beauty of God’s Word transform your words." @mferrell

We’re talking about a topic that I pretty confidently say affects all of us. It’s our grumbling and complaining. My hope today is that the Lord would fill us with joy no matter our circumstances and we would rejoice always and give thanks in all things. As believers we can do this and how do I know this - because as it says in Philippians 2:13 – it is God who is at work in you. So let’s dig in, and I pray that as we start our time together today, you will pray for the Lord to ... continue reading...

Dear friends, I recorded this episode last year af Dear friends, I recorded this episode last year after sharing my testimony with my church family. It was one of the hardest podcast episodes to work through. ⁣
⁣
My testimony comes from one who remembers what it was like to be unsaved and seeking an abortion and now coming from the other side of being born again, a new creation in Christ and understanding the beauty of forgiveness and redemption in Christ. ⁣
⁣
No sin is beyond the grace and forgiveness of God, even the sin of abortion. True forgiveness, hope, and healing can only be found, but it is only found in Jesus Christ. ⁣
I pray you'll listen in if you haven't yet. ⁣
