Podcast: Resisting Gossip

by Marci Ferrell
Biblical Womanhood Christian Living Communication in Marriage Encouragement Podcast Titus 2

Our words are important and as the Bible says, they are revealing our heart. @mferrell

The sin of gossip is everywhere, and it is in the church.  We can’t seem to get away from it.  We are either the ones gossiping or listening to gossip or we are the ones being gossiped about.  Gossip is a prevalent and poisonous sin that many times is not dealt with.  It is one of the “respectable sins” Jerry Bridges deals with in his book Respectable Sins, and the sin of gossip is thoroughly covered in a book I highly recommend called Resisting Gossip by ... continue reading...

Our words have power and they can bring death or life to our relationships. @mferrell

Becoming Women Who Speak Words That Build Up

Biblical Womanhood Christian Living Encouragement Friendships

Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips!  Psalm 141:3 How many times have we left a conversation and said to ourselves, "Why did I say that?" I have been guilty too many times for wanting to take words back that already left my mouth.  But we can't.  In James 3:2 it tells us that only the perfect man will not stumble in what he says and in James 3:8 we are reminded that no human being can tame the tongue. Our words are ... continue reading...

My Reading List for 2014

by Marci Ferrell
Book Reviews

Here is my hopeful list of books to read in 2014 (affiliate links).  I'm setting the physical books on a shelf so they're in one spot.  The ones that are on my Kindle usually end up getting read from my iPad and I love using a timer for my reading.  It helps me to stay focused and set aside time everyday to read something edifying instead of puttering moments away on various articles or that dreaded time waster - Facebook!  (I love Facebook and can get caught up on there more ... continue reading...

Dear friends, I recorded this episode last year af Dear friends, I recorded this episode last year after sharing my testimony with my church family. It was one of the hardest podcast episodes to work through. ⁣
⁣
My testimony comes from one who remembers what it was like to be unsaved and seeking an abortion and now coming from the other side of being born again, a new creation in Christ and understanding the beauty of forgiveness and redemption in Christ. ⁣
⁣
No sin is beyond the grace and forgiveness of God, even the sin of abortion. True forgiveness, hope, and healing can only be found, but it is only found in Jesus Christ. ⁣
I pray you'll listen in if you haven't yet. ⁣

Have your doctrinal views, and all your knowledge of Christ, packed away in a handy form so that, when people want to know what you believe, you can tell them. If they wish to know why you believe that you are saved, have your answer all ready in a few plain, simple sentences; and in the gentlest and most modest spirit make your confession of faith to the praise and glory of God. Who knows but what such good seed will bring forth an abundant harvest?⁣
