by Marci Ferrell
Biblical Womanhood Homemaking Menu Planning Podcast Prayer Time Management Titus 2

I'm sharing some of the simple tools that have helped me manage my time over my 34 years of being a wife, mother, and homemaker. I continue to tweak them over the years and various seasons of my life. @mferrell

I'm sharing some of the simple tools that have helped me manage my time over my 34 years of being a wife, mother, and homemaker. I continue to tweak them over the years and various seasons of my life. What I love most about them is that they are all free. You don't need to purchase anything extra to implement these tools into your day. I share items that I've purchased or used but it is not necessary.  We all do things differently, and there is no right or one way to manage our days, ... continue reading...

Directly from the Father’s Hand – {Psalm 31:15}

by Marci Ferrell
Biblical Womanhood Christian Living Theology

God has ordained every circumstance of our lives to be worked out for our good and for His glory. @mferrell

How often do we find ourselves trying to seek control and manipulate challenging circumstances that come about in our lives instead of first and foremost surrendering ourselves and our circumstances to the loving and authoritative, sovereign hand of the Lord?  The reminder in Psalm 31:15 is, "My times are in your hand." God has ordained every circumstance of our lives to be worked out for our good and for His glory. We can rest knowing that every aspect of our lives is under His divine ... continue reading...

Marys and Marthas: Celebrating Women of Different Character

by Marci Ferrell
Biblical Womanhood Christian Living Feminism Titus 2

So often, the passage in Luke 10:38-42 describing the scene of Mary and Martha only highlights Martha being corrected, and we miss out on so much more of Martha and Mary's character. @mferrell

So often, the passage in Luke 10:38-42 describing the scene of Mary and Martha only highlights Martha being corrected, and we miss out on so much more of Martha and Mary's character. There were some issues with Martha's attitude, but I appreciated the quote below from J.C. Ryle on these two sisters who "both loved Jesus—and Jesus loved both of them." It's a good reminder for us all to remember, there are many varying personalities and strengths that make up the family of God. We need ... continue reading...

EP 80: Do the Next Thing {A Reminder from Elisabeth Elliot}

by Marci Ferrell
Biblical Womanhood Christian Living Podcast

"Do the Next Thing" has been a favorite saying of mine from Elisabeth Elliot and I thought we could use a little encouragement from her words today.  @mferrell

  My heart can get too easily overwhelmed when my task list begins to look longer than the hours in my day. I'm sharing a favorite saying I remind myself that I first heard from Elisabeth Elliot, "Do the Next Thing." The poem where Mrs. Elliot first heard those words was written by Mr. George A. Paull (scroll a bit from the beginning of the book linked), and it was from a book written by Eleanor Amerman Sutphen titled, Ye Nexte Thynge. You can read part of the episode below (5 ... continue reading...

Have your doctrinal views, and all your knowledge of Christ, packed away in a handy form so that, when people want to know what you believe, you can tell them. If they wish to know why you believe that you are saved, have your answer all ready in a few plain, simple sentences; and in the gentlest and most modest spirit make your confession of faith to the praise and glory of God. Who knows but what such good seed will bring forth an abundant harvest?⁣

I can still pick up a book to read to my grandbabies that I read to my children when they were little and be taken back to those days of sitting with my babies on my lap getting lost in the story. I can hear in those memories the giggles, or surprise or sadness depending on the story in the voices of my children. It's been fun to make new memories with my grandchildren and possibly one day even my great-grandchildren.⁣

Just as we turn the calendar and think about our Bible reading plan for the year, I know many of us think about what books will be on our nightstands, in our cars, suitcases, coffee tables, and on our bookshelves.⁣
